Hi Everyone! First of all, this post is overdue and I apologize for that!
We had many success stories in the Open this year and there was none bigger than Sharon’s run at making the CrossFit Games Masters Division for women 60+. It hasn’t been talked about that much because Sharon asked that we try to keep chatter to a minimum during the Open and Qualifier because she get’s anxious from time to time. Anyone who knows anxiety knows it can be crippling and we wanted to respect her wishes. Now that the dust has settled I want to brag about Sharon!
CrossFit Games Open
Worldwide Finish: 61st
Canada West: 1st
She started out a little rough in weeks 1 & 2 placing. (188th, 147th). Unfortunately Sharon was ill, but, gallantly fought through the firs two weeks. She managed to dig herself out of the hole the with very consistent finishes the rest of the way. (77th, 60th, 68th, 46th). What a great comeback. It was so nice to see her hard work pay off and qualify her 61st overall in the entire world and allowed her to qualify in the Masters Qualifier for the Games.
The same workouts place her (6th,2nd,4th,3rd,1st,1st) in Western Canada. Pretty Sweet to be the #1 Female in Western Canada for age 60+!!!
Congratulations on your Open Finish Sharon!!!
CrossFit Games Masters Qualifier
Worldwide Finish: 44th
Well shucks, she didn’t quite make the top 20 and qualify for the CrossFit Games. However, she did place 44th in the entire world and improve her score all the way along!!! Wooot!! That’s out of 2162 Women 60+ worldwide! Pretty special. We are all so proud of you Sharon!
Sharon is going to go for it again this year! After reviewing her progress this past couple years and aiming to be healthy for the entire 2018/19 Season Sharon will give her all again and work with Chris on her weaknesses. (After a little vacation)
If you see Sharon give her a high five! or a hug! She loves the attention. 😉
