It’s been just over a year since Cathy joined the CrossFit North Vancouver community but she made an impression right away. Her enthusiasm and never quit attitude is infectious and she has risen to all the challenges that have been put in front of her.

How did you discover CrossFit? Everyone was doing it and loving it!
Do any other members of your family do CrossFit? Eddie watches it daily…does that count?
What were your goals in starting CrossFit? Get stronger.
Have they changed? Now I want to get stronger and faster.
What changes have occurred in your health, fitness and general athletic performance since you started CrossFit? Pretty sure they have all improved in the last year.
Have you ever gone in a CrossFit Competition? Yes! I did the open and the CanWest qualifiers this year.
Would you like to? I will definitely do them again! They pushed me physically and mentally.
What type of workout do you enjoy the most? Partner workouts.
What type of workout do you least enjoy? Anything with double unders…they get me every time!
Is there anything you’d like to see added to the CrossFit program? Some gymnastics workshops?
What is your favourite activity outside of CrossFit? Camping….well let’s be honest….its glamping.
What has been your best CrossFit moment? I’ve had about 50 best moments!
What inspires you the most? Seeing everyone try as hard as they can.
Who do you look for inspiration from? You don’t need to look too far at CFNV for inspiration. I am inspired daily by the coaches and members.
What sports have you played in the past? Nothing specific. Just dabbled in lots of things.
What other sports do you currently play? Trail running and Snowboarding.
Is there something that people will be surprised to discover about you? I studied percussion in West Africa for 3 months in my mid twenties. Then life got real…jobs, kids and…drum roll….CrossFit!
