Saskia can look back to 2011 for one of her best Crossfit moments, “I did my last workout two days before my first daughter was born. It was awkward, but the interval training came in handy!” At that point she had been doing Crossfit for a couple of years and knew the benefits she would enjoy from staying in shape during her pregnancy.
It was a chance meeting on a mountain bike trail that brought Saskia to Crossfit. “I randomly met Ainslie Kehler out on the mountain bike trails one summer. I was looking for a personal trainer at that time and we hit it off right away. She introduced me to Crossfit and I’ve never looked back. She then moved away, I had baby #2 and started with the mom and baby group at CFNV shortly after.”
Writing these comments is bitter sweet as Saskia is going to be moving away. She will be missed at CFNV as she always brought a great attitude and encouraged those around her. Inspirational to watch from the start in our Mom and Baby class. Good Luck Saskia!

To achieve and maintain a high level of fitness, and enjoy it at the same time!
Have they changed?
Not really, but with life being so busy the focus has been more on maintenance…
What changes have occurred in your health, fitness and general athletic performance since you started Crossfit?
I’ve gotten stronger.
How often do you train? Twice per week
What time do you normally train at? Evenings and weekend mornings
Have you ever gone in a Crossfit Competition? No
Would you like to? I could possibly be talked into it.
What type of workout do you enjoy the most?
Bulls burners. I like the variety, the intensity, and the friendly competition.
What type of workout do you least enjoy?
Anything with a rope climb.
Is there anything you’d like to see added to the Crossfit program?
So far so good!

Riding (road or mountain) skiing, hiking, kayaking
What inspires you the most?
A comeback. Those who are fighting to get their fitness back after pregnancy, an injury, or any other setback..

Field hockey, running, swimming
What other sports do you currently play?
Chasing my kids around.. I also competed in my first adventure race this year (MOMAR)
