Many of us travel for work or head away on vacation and don’t always have access to a gym. While we often have the best intentions to workout while away, our fitness can fall by the wayside. Instead of dropping your fitness routine, try these four bodyweight workouts. These workouts can be done from the comfort of your hotel room and will help you maintain your fitness while on the road.
15 Minute AMRAP:
Complete a tabata for each of the above movements. Rest 30 seconds between each movement.
A tabata is 4 minutes in total, compiled of 8 sets, working for 20 seconds followed by 10 seconds of rest.
2 minute plank hold.
Complete 1 Burpee and 10 situps, then 2 Burpees and 9 situps, continue this pattern until the ladder is complete. Once the ladder is complete, proceed to the 2 minute plank hold (break up the time as necessary to accumulate 2 minutes).
10 Rounds for time:
20 Mountain Climbers
20 Jumping Squats
There is always a way to stay active while on the road. Don’t let travel be an excuse to let your fitness falter! If you have access to equipment, such as a skipping rope or a kettlebell then you can mix up the above workouts to have even more variety on the go. There are no rules just keep moving.
Our coaches are dedicated to helping you achieve your fitness goals. If you are travelling for an extended period of time and need advice on programming, speak with one of us, we are happy to help!
