Initially Annika was interested in Crossfit to just get into better physical shape, without sacrificing her hands to calluses. That all changed after she volunteered to help at a regional competition and saw the athleticism of the competitors. “After seeing that I wanted to play with the big kids!” While not interested in entering competitions she is definitely focused on competing against herself. “My present goals lean towards quality movements as opposed to quantity. At this point in my life avoiding injury seems to be a good idea! I’m enjoying my private sessions with Chris and through them have seen my Olympic lifts improve.” With years of training now under her belt, she continues to see the benefits. “The strength and emotional benefits that I gain from the WODs are used in my everyday life. Life has become easier. Not only that, I find the community of people I get to share the gym with are an integral reason for me showing up each day. The camaraderie is priceless and the opportunity for hugs is always there.”
Annika has been there since day one of CrossFit North Vancouver and she has supported the gym, the community, and my family through and through. As wonderful on the inside as the outside. Always working hard and always happy to lend a helping hand. Just lovely!
