April 2008. It was love at first sight, or I should say love at first pushup (from my knees).
To say I eat, sleep, and breath Crossfit ever since that day, almost 6 years ago, when Coach Dave Kitchen said ‘YOU CAN DO THIS’, likely wouldn’t be an understatement.
Crossfit, the community, the challenge, the lifestyle, has forever changed me, and for the better. The feeling that you yourself have achieved something you didn’t think your body/mind was capable of is a beautiful gift. Then to do it surrounded by like minded people who quickly become family makes it that much better!
I feel very fortunate to train day in and out with the loveable and encouraging crew at Crossfit North Vancouver. Not to mention, I met my best friend and love of my life in those very walls (lucky me)! As of February 2013 I attended my Crossfit L1 course, and have enjoyed the journey of coaching and educating the public on fitness by doing weekly segments on ‘CTV Morning Live’ ever since.
Short term goals Crossfit wise is to place top 25 in the 2014 Western Canada Open. And long term is to make it to the Crossfit Games before I’m 50 years old…It’s good to dream right? 😉
