We have had some great feedback and we are going to make some awesome changes around CFNV to better everyone’s experience. We plan to implement these changes on July 2nd, 2013. Here they are listed in no particular order:
The 4:30/5:30pm classes during the week and the Saturday morning classes at 8:30/9:30am will have two coaches on the floor to create an even better experience for all members. We are always striving to give you more. Over the next few months we will have multiple coaches at other classes once our apprentice coaches become ready to hit the floor. Supply and Demand.
We are going to introduce a late policy. Why? Because several members are effected by people being late daily. We realize there are perfectly good reasons to be late, but, whether they are good or not it’s very disruptive to everyone’s learning experience. This is not a punishment. This is an extended warm up to make sure the late person is ready to go and it’s a way to avoid disruption to the class. The late policy is in effect as of 5 minutes after the start of class. If you arrive past the 5 minute mark please do the following:
1- Report to the Coach
2- Work through the “Late Warm Up”
3- Report back to the Coach
We need to fine tune this policy as well. It’s always been a little loose as we try to accommodate everyone. However, it’s not working. We almost had a child get crushed by a barbell a couple weeks ago. This rule is going to be simple and black and white. NO KIDS ON THE BLACK TRAINING FLOOR AT ALL. Thus, if your kids can’t come and entertain themselves off the floor, they shouldn’t be here. I apologize as I know this is difficult for some. You all know we love kids and have children, but, nothing matters more than their safety.
CLEANING UP AFTER YOURSELF
This idea has been thrown around forever and it works at several CrossFit boxes. The threat of burpees. There will be a board set aside for accumulating penalties. This doesn’t mean you have to clean the gym, change toilet paper, or wash windows. This simply means you need to put away your equipment when you are done. This is meant to be a fun way of keeping everyone in check. Here are a list of common offenses:
Burpee Penalty, 1 per pound:
Leaving your Plates out
Leaving your Bar out
Leaving your Dumbbell out
Leaving your KB out
Leaving your Med Ball out
Burpee Penalty, 25 per offense:
Leaving out your Pullup Band
Leaving out your Rower
Leaving out your Box
Leaving out your Abmat
Chalking the Floor and not mopping up
THURSDAYS GOING BACK TO PROGRAMMING
We will be programming for Thursdays again. What does this mean? No more making up WODs on Thursday. The positive is more structure with a plan to make you better. The Thursday programming will take into consideration recovery from Mon-Wed and what’s going on Fri/Sat. While we realize you might have liked making up a workout we have become so busy that it’s getting unsafe to have that many people doing different things in the box. Your safety is paramount.
