We have a great opportunity to be a part of something special. In two weeks, April 20th, there will be the 1st Annual WOD for KIDS Event. I’m proud to be a part of the event and I know everyone at CFNV will be very proud to support it as well since our community is full of kids.
Information on the Event:
WOD for Kids is running this year in coordination with Jeans Day, a province wide event raising money and awareness for BC Children’s Hospital. Basically what it involves is all of us getting together to bust out an awesome WOD in jeans on 20 April 2013! Denim of any kind will do from skinny jean cut-offs to a full Canadian tuxedo! There is a poster at the bottom of this post.
Where the fundraising comes in is that each of you will be given an envelope containing $50 worth of lapel pins. These are of either $5 or $20 value. We ask that you go out into your community, whether that be work, family or friends and turn these pins into cash to be donated to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Donations beyond this are also possible and encouraged and all of the information about that can be found on their website at www.WODforKids.com. You will also receive a “Friend Card” so that you can invite a friend to come and be a part of the event as well! There will be an adjusted newbie WOD.
We really want every member to participate in this event! There will be great prizes for best costume, highest fundraiser and best WOD score from the events sponsors STR/KE MVMNT (http://strike-mvmnt.com/home.php), Blonyx (http://www.blonyx.com/) and Muscle Milk!
Please go to www.wodforkids.com to register! It only takes a couple of seconds.

This is an amazing opportunity to come together as a community and make a big difference by raising not only money but awareness of the very important role that BC Children’s Hospital plays in the lives of so many families. We hope that you will be as excited as we are to get involved in this great event.
Dave, Nina, and Grace.
